What could be causing the reverb on my amplifier to not work?

I’ve got a Marshall VS-102R amp on which the reverb has recently stopped working. My first thought is that the 12ax7 preamp tube may be shot but I wanted some other opinions. Anyone have any ideas?

The tube in that amp is very early in the signal chain. If that were the problem, then you would have problems with the basic sound of the amp.

Do you have a problem with both the clean and OD reverb? If so, there’s a problem in the send portion of the circuit. If only one is working, then it’s on the return side.

Either way, you’re looking at a trip to the repair shop.
