Nice recorder, I have the Teac A-3300SX double and I can exchange one for a Revox B77, I have also made movies of my recorders you can see them on my youtube channel.
Good point, recording from a CD player it will only sound as good, bad point, where do you think a vinyl was mastered from? it was defiantly not cut from vinyl from the recording studio, chances are if its a new record, it was a digital multitrack and if it was old, a Studer which is the pro version of ReVox, so vinyl is no better than CD to test this machine, only a live sound is.
Being at the right place at the right time, lots of searching and many friends in the broadcast fields, the best thing now is these machines find me!
hello sir, could this revox b77 be used in recording studio, mostly for hip hop type of music, which also requires vocal doubling to 2-4 times – can this machine do that (i’ve never had any experiences with analog recording studios :S) and how much does it cost
wtf??!! What a waste of time recording a digital signal onto an analogue machine its only going to sound as good as a cd player, you could have at least recorded from vinyl or some other analogue source…. very strange…..
Pas de bol en effet, il faut vérifier chacune des cartes enfichables se trouvant à l’intérieur afin d’identifier d’où vient le condensateur grillé… L’idéal est de remplacer tous les condensateurs “chimiques” par des éléments électrolytiques, ou de remplacer la carte défectueuse, chacune d’entre elles porte une référence et il est possible de les trouver à prix raisonnables sur eBay en Allemagne, il suffit de chercher un peu! Bon Courage.
petite deception avec mon b 77 mk 2 le plus jeune de ma collection composee de magnetos a lampes et a transistors c est le premier a m avoir abandonne il y a 3 semaines un bruit puis une grosse fumee s est degagee je pense que c est une capacite n etant pas tecnicien je le stocke en attendant de trouver de pouvoir le faire repare
Excellente Machine que ce ReVox B77 MkII… Une vraie merveille, un son parfait, lorsque l’on utilise de bonnes bandes (ReVox, Maxell, 3M, BASF/EMTEC et même RMG!!!) Merci pour cette vidéo qui met en valeur un magnéto qui sort du rang, le dernier de la marque ReVox, fabriqué en Allemagne jusqu’en 1987, et vendu jusqu’en 1992, jusqu’à épuisement des stocks…
The B77 is a nice machine, sounds great when set up right.
what is your secret to have so much and awesome recorders do you have a lot of money? tell me your secret but just to me in my ear i will not conccurence you because i live in the east of france my revox b 77 mk 2 has blow a capacitor today so i plug my a77 hs 2 tracks for me you are the god of the reels to reels lol cheers
Its beautiful!! Once I have some dosh I’m going to get hold of one for my synthpop band I want to do what the 80′s groups did which is have a tape machine on stage for their drums and backing tracks!

Hi. I got myself 700 tapes and a revox B77 for free. But unluckily the tapes had 4 tracks and this revox can only play 2 tracks. Now you’re saying the revox B77 MkII can play 4 tracks? Does this mean that if I get a MKII I can play all 4 tracks seperately?

With 400+ recorders, I had to cut down.
oh yh the PR99 MKII is an good machine but i still prefer the old 80′s retro look of the b77
how come you got rid of this recorder then?
The recorder has a built in Varispeed control, sadly I no longer have this recorder but I still have the PR99 MKII, I must do a video soon.
quality recorder my faverit awsom sound quality do u have the vauribal speed controol with it?
Cheers! there is a little difference when you listen to it live though it is an awesome recorder, ReVox sold millions of these.
Thanks for the video. There is no different at 15. (Maybe B77 plays better than cd at 15 speed. )
