Looking to power 3 pairs of outdoor speakers. I can pick up a cheap stereo receiver since surround is not needed, but most do not have pre-outs. I have a Yamaha amp. TIA.

If the slave amp(s)s have their own preamps (i.e. volume control) then you could perhaps use tape / md / vcr audio outputs from the master amp into aux /r tape / vcr / cd (NOT phono or mic) inputs on the slave amp(s) using standard RCA cables. These outputs should be at normal line levels so should feed the slave amp(s) fine.
However, these outputs are usually not attenuated by the master amp’s volume control, so if the slave amps are just power amps, then you would need to buy / build a volume control between the master receiver and the slave amps.
Also, eware earth (ground) loops that can introduce bad hum, so best to make sure there’s only one grounding point for all the amps.
