wow! great deck!
being as 100 dollars is the most i ever held in my life at one time, i sprung for an akai x-150d. needed some major repairs due to a potmetal piece crumbling inside during shipping but i did it and a week later i had it working perfectly. minor quirk is that i cant record individually to the 4 tracks in a synchronized manner, and only accepts 7 inch reels. but i could always spool 1 10 inch rel onto 2 smqller ones i guess. once again minor quirks, but you have a great deck!

Yes I did sell mine for a pretty good price... I think I got about $600 or $700 for it, which wasn't too bad considering the repairs it needed.

Depends who you ask. Many reel to reel fans insist that these machines sound better than anything else on earth. In my opinion, these machines make good copies of whatever source you feed them. If you start with a good vinyl record, you will get a tape copy that sounds nearly identical to the original vinyl. But it can't magically recreate anything that is missing from the original source. It does tend to add little boost to the bass, though, so that might help if the original lacks bass.
